KHUVSGUL LAKE TOUR 1 (Flight) - 3 days 2 nights
A three-day tour of Khuvsgul Lake in northern Mongolia allows you to experience the breathtaking beauty of one of the largest and deepest freshwater lakes in Asia.
Day 1. Ulaanbaatar to Khuvsgul Lake
- Depart from Ulaanbaatar by flight to Murun, the capital of Khuvsgul Province.
- Upon arrival in Murun, meet your guide and driver and embark on a scenic drive to Khuvsgul Lake, located approximately 120 kilometers (75 miles) from Murun.
- Arrive at Khuvsgul Lake in the afternoon and check into your accommodation, which may be a ger camp or guesthouse near the lake.
- Spend the rest of the day exploring the lakeshore, taking in the stunning scenery and breathing in the fresh mountain air.
- Enjoy dinner at your accommodation and relax by the lakeside.
Day 2. Khuvsgul Lake Exploration
- After breakfast, embark on a full day of exploration around Khuvsgul Lake.
- Take a boat tour on the lake, cruising along its crystal-clear waters and enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and forests.
- Visit local nomadic families in the area to learn about their way of life and experience Mongolian hospitality.
- Enjoy a picnic lunch on the lakeshore, surrounded by pristine nature.
- In the afternoon, take a leisurely hike or horseback ride in the nearby forests or meadows.
- Return to your accommodation in the evening and enjoy a traditional Mongolian dinner.
Day 3. Return to Ulaanbaatar
- After breakfast, bid farewell to Khuvsgul Lake and begin the journey back to Murun.
- Stop at scenic viewpoints along the way to take photos and soak in the last views of the lake.
- Upon arrival in Murun, catch your return flight to Ulaanbaatar.
- Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for some last-minute sightseeing in Ulaanbaatar before departing for your onward journey.
